Our business is growing and so is the Platform Engineering team. In this newly defined position, we're looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with strong business instincts and creativity. Enhancing our products and service offering to internal teams. Engineers are part of the Engineering Chapter and will assist in developing the platform, ensuring it is accessible, easy to use and aligned to the OnePass vision.

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Work alongside divisional SMEs and Wesfarmers representatives, ensuring the platform that is built is free of defects, easily deployed and provides a competitive advantage for the organisation.
  • Learning from your team while you share your knowledge adding your very own splash of colour to our palette and making it fun. At OneDigital It is part of everyone’s core role to ensure that no one is left behind and that everyone is enjoying their journey as they evolve!

To shine on day one, what you need to have:

  • Demonstrated skills and experience working as a Site Reliability Engineer
  • Experience or familiarity with designing and building distributed systems using event sourcing / event-driven architecture (Kafka ideally) and/or API’s:
  • Exposure with one or more container scheduling/orchestration products - Kubernetes, ECS etc
  • Experience building systems on either AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Excellent communication skills. You should be comfortable engaging with developers, architects, product owners etc and be able to articulate the benefits of SRE Practices.
  • Experience with at least one observability product (eg. Datadog, Newrelic) and a solid understanding of distributed tracing
  • Familiar with different disaster recovery strategies, load balancing & circuit breaking
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills. You love diving into the depths of a problem to reach an outcome.
  • Where there’s an opportunity for improvement, you don’t shy away from championing the decision to make significant change to our systems
  • Ability to work well in a team or autonomously, whether in the office or remote

It's a bonus, but not required, if you have:

  • Proficiency in Golang or Kotlin
